The tradional stone-built House of the Strato’s family is situated near the center of the village, close to the village square of Kalavassos, Restaurants and coffee shops.
It has maintained its unimpaired original character for the last 300 years.
Stratos was born around 1865 and he was one of the first school teachers in the whole of Cyprus. He spent much of his time studing. He was a very hospitable person and Strato’s House has always been a place to entertain guests and visitors.
As you stroll across the stone-paved square towards the narrow streets, look out for number 16, and you will face a large front door, where Mrs Panayiota , granddaughter of Stratos, stands at the doorstep to welcome you. Inside the beautiful courtyard with its two traditional arches is decorated with a large clay vessel which goes back a long way. Three doors lead to the different apartment-suites.
The House has 3 large comfortable apartment-suites, each one with its
own separate bathsuite and kitchen with all the necessary facilities.
Two of the suites can accommodate up to 2 persons, and the third suite can accommodate up to 4 persons. All suites are decorated with authentic and original materials.
Enjoy all your meals under the arches, or take a book and climb up the stairs to the two vine-covered verandas to read or relax.
Nearby (100metres) there is a private swimming pool with a panoramic view of the village where guests can enjoy swimming in peace.
